DESIGN IDEOLOGY
Alyssa aspires to create engaging, sustainable designs that redevelop experiences through a focus on functionality and inclusivity.
Her acquired knowledge about how society impacts the planet through overpopulation, pollution, the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, etc. serve as the foundation for her sustainable designs. Alyssa believes that all good design begins with understanding the site.
As a designer, it is important to conduct preliminary research to develop an understanding of the community and its demographics, the economic standing of its residents, and the weather patterns of the area. This allows us to create a space that responds to the users and local resources. A space should not stand separate from the site but respond to the site.
"No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other." - Frank Llyod Wright
